Concerts
The Bible’s influence extends beyond visual arts into musical expression.  MOBIA’s concert series, Hearing the Sacred, is programmed as a counterpart to exhibitions, exploring themes, time period and/or culture.  Musical selections include “classics” of religious music – such as medieval chant and Renaissance vocal polyphony - as well as new works that explore spirituality.

Workshops
Family workshops enable families to share in the creative process while exploring an aspect of the current exhibition.  Family workshops are offered for $5 per child and include museum admission.  Free for MOBIA members. There is no charge for parents and adult chaperones.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Special Events
Family days, film screenings, receptions, artist demonstrations and talks are just some of the special events that bring communities and families together to explore and celebrate current exhibitions.

Lectures
MOBIA’s lecture series, facilitated by noted art historians, historians, artists or religious scholars, seeks to expand the public’s understanding of the current exhibition and offers a dialogue concerning the connections between art, religion and culture.  Lectures are offered free of charge and include museum admission on the day of the lecture.
